How I Got Ripped off by Pokemon Games

So back in November or so, I bought 5 things off of eBay. A GBA link cable, 3 DS stylus pens, Pokemon Emerald, Pokemon FireRed, and Pokemon LeafGreen. They were all from a different seller each. Problem was, I currently own 2 of the items I just said. When I got everything in the mail, I started playing the Pokemon games. I got to about the 2nd Badge in each game. The next day, I went over to babysit. Thankfully, they love video games and Pokemon. They own a Gameboy Advance, and I didn’t at the time. I brought my Pokemon Colosseum and GBA-to-GC cable, as I wanted to trade Pokemon. I put in Emerald, saved at the Pokemon Center and everything. “ERROR! Erasing game data…” I sat in shock. WHAT?! I tested FireRed and LeafGreen. SAME THING. I wondered if I had done something wrong. But surely they wouldn’t ERASE MY GAME. I borrowed their Gameboy before I went back to my house. I tested it over and over. Using XD and Colosseum. Same result. One of the things I noticed that in each game it said “The internal battery has run dry”. I used to play ROMs of these games, so I thought nothing would be a problem. I did some research with my buddies over on GameFAQs. Turns out, all the games were bootlegs. I used a fantastic guide, and spotted all the differences between a real and fake game. So, how much did I pay for all this?

Pokemon Emerald: $9

Pokemon FireRed: $17

Pokemon LeafGreen: $17

So that’s $43, wasted. Ugh. Anyone got legit versions of these they would like to sell? :P
